Nice accommodations, wonderful place
★★★★★
“
My first stay but it won’t be my last! It’s a wonderful place that’s easy to find and convenient to Monterey and Pacific Grove. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. No continental breakfast this time but there is a charming restaurant right next door. The beds are super comfy and I love those big marsmallow pillows. The rooms have a fridge and coffeemaker which is always convenient. Jasmine and Olga at the front desk were very helpful and friendly. Thanks to everyone at The Olympia Lodge for making this a great stay! - Renee”

Best Place
★★★★★
“
Olympia lodge has been the best place we’ve visited post pandemic. The staff are wonderful, the rooms are clean, the surrounding area is tranquil and feels like a true getaway from the hustle and bustle of life. Olga is specifically very welcoming and polite. She went the extra mile to ensure that we had enough coffee and towels since breakfast and maid service is still on hold. Thank you to the wonderful team at Olympia Lodge! We will be seeing you again soon! - Tanya”

Great location

“
I can not say enough good things about this place and pacific Grove as a whole. The location of the hotel allows you to feel like you’re deep in the woods, and yet be only 5 mins from downtown. how is that even possible! I would recommend staying here for a low key, wind down, type of getaway! - Gabriela”

What a beautiful hotel and amazing location. Has a cabin vibe, but on the beach. Less than 1/2 a mile from the ocean. I wish we could have stayed another night. We had the deluxe king room and had a beautiful view of the ocean.”

Very enjoyable experience

“
Very enjoyable experience. The staff was exceptional, going out of their way to make us comfortable. The location was good. I was able to easily walk to the monarch sanctuary although in February I saw no butterflies. THe ocean was just blocks away. Thee was a beautiful rock garden behind the rooms and there was even a deer browsing there in the morning.”

Clean, affordable, woodsy, family friendly, all around great place

“
We love the location, and the proximity to the ocean, trails, dining and more. The staff are so helpful and do everything they can to accommodate you. We experienced outstanding customer service & help from Jasmine. We also appreciated the housekeepers. We understand with covid that they are not able to come to the rooms during our stay but they cleaned the room very well before we checked in and our room was ready early. We had some issues with the family staying next to us and the Lodge moved us to a different room immediately and offered to assist us if there was more trouble. Our favorite room is room 208, we’ve been able to ask to stay in it twice. You can walk town to the state beach and walk the trail, but if you’d like a more family friendly beach and to go in the water drive a few mins to Asilomar Beach. Next door is a great place for lunch or dinner offering outdoor dining. We’ve been able to see deer from our room literally right outside at arms reach. Don’t touch them though! We have already booked our third stay at this hotel and are really looking forward to it. Also they views from the room and balcony are beautiful, you have partial views of the ocean and you can see and hear the waves. We’d also like to mention that it lives up to the name of a lodge, the rooms upstairs have beams and gives it a nice touch and add to character as well as the furnishing. We don’t really spend a lot of time in the room except for a break before dinner. We enjoyed the sunset from the balcony as well as coffee in the morning on the balcony. Very quiet! It’s not that I didn’t like it but I normally don’t like carpet. I didn’t mind the carpet here. My feet were clean so I can tell they clean the carpets!”

“
Stayed for one night, as our timeshare was checking in a day late due to Covid requirements. Room & TV were nice. Beds were soft. All was clean. It was cozy, if a bit dated. The bed frames could give you quite a bruise if you weren’t used to having a frame that extended beyond the bed. I would stay there again.”

Everything. Value especially. Ocean views from second floor, some rooms. Double beds. Looks like you can adjoin the rooms if you asked. Balcony is bigger than your average apartment balcony. We liked room 208.”

Affordable, great location
★★★★★
“
Let me start by saying, I gave this Hotel 5 stars because you get what you pay for. With that said don't expect any frills. Very basic hotel room and lobby. I loved the location. The ocean was just a walk away with tide pools. There's a gorgeous golf course and a cemetery to walk through. We took a tour of the lighthouse and that was mystical... The complimentary breakfast was very basic. Packages of oatmeal and muffins about did it. Basic accommodations overall for a very low cost.”

Great hotel, close to beach
★★★★★
“
Check in was easy even though we were early we didn't have to wait long for our room to be available. Friendly staff, wonderful views of the coastline and some of the ocean even in our discounted room. Lots of old wood and nice landscaping. There is a pool, but it was closed probably too early in the season. The room was spacious and very clean, the bathroom smallish with the sink outside in the main room. Loved being able to hear the ocean throughout the night. The breakfast wasn't fancy, juice, coffee, ceareals some sweet rolls and toasting breads and fruit. It was busy both days we were there so it was difficult to get a table to sit and eat, but I suppose you could take the food up to your room. We spent our first evening down the road at Asilmar beach in chairs watching the sunset just a short distance from the hotel, and it was easy access from the hotel to 17 mile drive, monterey's wharf and cannery row.”

Great 2 night stay at this Lodge
★★★★★
“
Stayed Sunday to Tuesday in a a king size room with balcony. Spacious room, small refrigerator, heater worked great. Check in was smooth, very helpful to local places. Was very nice to eat our continental breakfast in the morning enjoying the outdoors. Parking is limited compared to rooms, was a non issue but we parked on the street one of the nights. Loved how close to the ocean it was, lots of flowers and nature all around”

Stayed here a couple of times and really enjoyed the stay. King rooms were large, bathroom was clean, nice wide screen tv, wifi. Top balconies you can see the ocean, but have to pay a little more. Nice continental breakfast and front desk clerks are very friendly and accommodating. Overall, this is a great lodge for the money and you're right in Pacific Grove.”

Great Stay
★★★★★
“
We recently stayed three nights (had two rooms) at the Olympia Lodge at the recommendation of a family member. I was tad concerned reading some of the past reviews and I could not have been happier with the stay. You cant go into your stay and think the Olympia Lodge is going to be the Ritz. What it is a very comfortable room (beds were new and super comfortable) that was quite and a few blocks from the ocean. We went for a walk to the ocean a few mornings and its not even 5 minutes away. The breakfast wasn't anything special but perfect to grab a cup of coffee and a bagel. I would recommend the Olympia Lodge to anyone looking for an inexpensive, comfortable room to relax on the spacious balcony after a day of exploring.”

Spring Break with Family
★★★★★
“
My kids and I stayed here during our stay in Monterey. Reserve the balcony rooms facing ocean, you can hear the ocean after dark. The rooms were perfect. Staff were hospitable, even included a map of Monterey with recommendations of local sights and eatery’s. Perfectly located away from the crowd, yet close enough to everything. Highly recommend for couples and families.”

So Very Quiet! Love It!
★★★★★
“
This is an older hotel/lodge, but that's what I love about it. Quiet, quaint, clean! The staff is the greatest. We had a couple problems (slight) and they were taken care of immediately. (This was a 'girls getaway' visit.) Be sure to ask if you have any issues with the tv. Because it's an older hotel, the bathrooms are very small. BUT, anything can be handled if the inclination is there. Jasmine and I had a nice visit about cars and 'such'. I would go back there with my husband for a few days for sure. Thanks for a spectacular visit.”

Great Staff and Close to Nature
★★★★★
“
My daughter and I stayed here for 3 weeks, and we had a great time. It is very much a lodge, so it isn't fancy. However, the staff was wonderful, especially Jasmine, who helped us to figure out trips, mass transportation, and the basics of the area. The rooms are clean and the maids were great. The location is perfect if you are looking to stay close to the beauty and nature of Asilomar State Park on the coast. It is a couple of blocks from the ocean and the Monarch Sanctuary. There are far fewer tourists on this side of the peninsula, so you can have a beach to yourself....heavenly.”

Very nice place to stay in Pacific Grove
★★★★★
“
This hotel was very clean and they are working very hard to update further (we had an old-style tube-type television and they are in the process of replacing those). The people in the lobby are very friendly. Beds were very comfortable. My friend who made the reservation was having trouble getting a room for Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving and they had one room left. The location is great. There's a partial beach view from some rooms and very nice balcony area. It's just around the corner from the Pinos Lighthouse - could be easily walked. Word to the wise, though, it is multi-level and there is no elevator. Very easy to get wherever you need to be in Pacific Grove and Monterey.”
