Announcing a new show for the Monterey Peninsula Art Foundation Gallery, “CALIFORNIA DREAMS” opens Saturday, February 3rd and runs through April 28th 2024. MPAF is located at 425 Cannery Row, Monterey, California, diagonally across from Chart House and the Monterey Plaza Hotel. Monterey County local art from at least 30 local artists.
The MPAF Gallery was actually an old carriage house of the former Tevis Estate and has gone through many changes but is an Historic building and part of Cannery Row’s history. There is still part of an old cannery tank in the parking lot which held fish oil. The parking lot is owned now by chart house, and mostly meant for their use. A 1952 movie CLASH BY NIGHT stars Barbara Stanwyk in the lead but Marilyn Monroe has a good part in it too in the early part of her career.
