Your pack’s packed, your boots broken in, now all you need to figure out is where to hike in Monterey. Thanks to our Monterey Hiking Guide, you’ll be ready to hit the trails!

  • Coastal Recreational Trail

Enjoy gorgeous views walking along the edge of California, right here in Pacific Grove. The Monterey Recreational Trail extends about a mile from the Monterey Bay Aquarium to Asilomar State Beach. With most of the trail being flat, this is a great family activity!

This 1.25 mile coastal walk is absolutely stunning – and oh so family friendly. Pack a blanket and enjoy some time in the sun before heading back for a delicious meal at one of Monterey’s delectable dining options.

This 7.5 loop trail is moderately challenging, but the views are worth it. Great for hikers, bird watchers and trail runners, it’s a popular route that starts and ends in charming Carmel-by-the-Sea.

  • Snively’s Ridge Trail in Garland Ranch Regional Park

This dog-friendly trail is a thigh burner, but you’re sure to love it. The views are spectacular, and that feeling of accomplishment once you get to the top, priceless. Clocking in at 5.8 miles, this out-and-back trail is worth the effort.

Whichever trail you choose, you’re sure to have a great time. As always, if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us. We’d be happy to help you plan not only your stay, but your itinerary.
